| Summary: | Chōra is a feminine name and singular. Plato uses it in the Timeus to indicate the third gender lying between the ideal paradigms and the becoming sensitive. Starting from the comments by J. Butler, J. Derrida, and L. Irigaray on Chōra, this paper analyzes the elements in the Timeus which convey in a biunivocal manner: on the one hand, a series of dichotomies into which the third gender is inserted in its feminine articulation; on the other hand, the presence of Chōra itself, which allows for the emergence of the dualisms where the dialog unfolds. |
