Description
Summary:The present study aimed to analyze religiosity as a resilience factor in the institutionalization process of the elderly. As for its method, this is a descriptive and observational study with a qualitative approach. This work contains a theoretical part dedicated to the elucidation of the concepts of resilience, religion, religiosity and spirituality, alongside an empirical one, which revolve around the review of the data collected. The sample included 06 elderly ladies, with ages varying from 66 to 89 years. The data was examined utilizing content analysis method techniques, which contributed to the understanding of the phenomenon under review. The results suggest the existence of a direct relation between religiosity and good health, pointing out that the former may be seen as a resilience factor for elderly people undergoing institutionalization.
