The field of nutrition and religion has traditionally been dominated by questions of dietary rules, ritual food sacrifices and fasting practices, but the field has currently gained new relevance in the context of global sustainability debates. The introduction to this thematic focus problematises the significance of normative dietary concepts for the study of religions and provides a cursory insight into the history and state of research. In addition to a typologisation of nutritional normative concepts, we present the research and some results of the interdisciplinary collaborative project "Sustainable Nutritional Styles" and contextualise the various contributions in the thematic focus on "Normierte Ernährungskonzepte" (Normative Dietary Concepts). |
