Summary:Makalemizde, Osmanlı’nın son dönemindeki Ruh anlayışı; Filibeli Ahmet Hilmi, Musa Kazım Efendi, İsmail Fenni Ertuğrul, Abdullatif Harpûtî, İzmirli İsmail Hakkı, Manastırlı İsmail Hakkı, Sırrı Girîdî, Mehmet Ali Aynî, Ömer Nasuhi Bilmen, İsmail Ferid gibi dönem âlimlerinin eserleri dikkate alınarak incelenmiştir. O dönemdeki Ruh anlayışını daha sağlıklı anlayabilmek için öncelikle Materyalizme değinilmiştir. Materyalizmle Ruh hakkındaki yaklaşımlar arasında ilişki kurulmuş, ardından ruhla ilgili tanımlamalar ve ruhun varlığına ilişkin argümanlar değerlendirilmiştir.
The concept of Rûh (spirit) is researched during the whole history of Islamic thought. Muslim scholars have made clear its usage and inference in their works. Discussions and analysis of the Muslim scholars on spirit have taken place on a ground that relative Qur’anic verses are placed in the centre and proceeded from the basis of them. Also, we rencounter such a problem like; whether if the ground of discussions on spirit root in understanding and interpreting the Qur’anic verses? They investigate various problems concerning spirit with the remarkable effect of some other internal and external factors in Islamic thought. In our paper the conception of Rûh (spirit) is analyzed considering the thoughts of renown scholar of the last period of Ottoman such as Filibeli Ahmet Hilmi, Musa Kazım Efendi, İsmail Fenni Ertuğrul, Abdullatif Harputi, İzmirli İsmail Hakkı, Manastırlı İsmail Hakkı, Sırrı Giridi, Mehmet Ali Ayni, Ömer Nasuhi Bilmen, İsmail Ferid. In order to conceive the conception of rûh at that time at the outset Materialism because the enlightenment and secularism that came as a result of the scientific revolution following the Renaissance and Reforms in 17th century Europe, Materialism gained more followers. In the 20th century in what was known as its golden era it became a world view, by manifesting itself in the religious, social, political and economic spheres of life. After its perception about rûh has been dealt with then the perennial questions about the nature of rûh, its eternity, etc. have argumentatively been discussed.
