Description
Summary:The author investigated spirituality as a mediator of the relationship between depression and subjective well-being in a sample of college students (N = 214) in Jamaica. Higher levels of self-reported depression was related to decreased spirituality, and self-reported depression was found to be significantly related to decreased subjective well-being. The prediction of spirituality as mediator for self-reported depression on subjective well-being was partially supported. This article presents the results, provides a robust discussion of the implications for professional counselors and proposes areas for future research.
