Description
Summary:The 2018 Religious Education Council of England and Wales' review of Religious Education proposes that the subject should be reframed as Religion & Worldviews. Although follow-up studies have explored this idea in some depth, comparatively little thought has been given to the exploration of personal worldviews. This paper explores James Fowler's work on Faith Development and proposes that this and the accompanying Faith Development Interview components offer a helpful framework for exploring personal worldviews with children. It recommends that Values Clarification strategies could be a helpful way of enabling children to expose and verbalise these elements of their own worldviews within the classroom context.
