| 520 | |a 대종교의 삼교회통관은 우리에게 아(我)에 대한 새로운 이해의 시각을 던져 준다. 그런데 이는 『會三經』과 『三法會通』 두 문헌만으로는 온전히 규명될 수는 없으며, 『天符經』과 『三一神誥』 등 『大倧敎經傳』 전반에 대한 이해의 맥락 가운데서, 그리고 삼일(三一)철학적 원리에 대한 보다 깊이 있는 해석에서 가능할 수밖에 없다. 그러므로 대종교가 말하는 아(我)의 보다 심층적인 의미 규명과 여기에 내재한 삼원성의 존재론적 의미와 인식 지평에 관한 탐구는 앞으로 더욱 연구해야 할 과제이다. 대종교의 삼교회통관이 원리적인 근거로 제시하는 자아관은 중국철학사전통과 한국의 근대 신종교들에서는 발견할 수 없는 독자적인 고유성을 가진 자아관이다. 이 자아관의 특성은 한마디로 자아의 삼원적인 구조에 기반한다. 그런데 이 삼원(三元)적 구조는 대종교의 교리가 의거하는 삼신(三神) 사상과 천지인(天地人) 삼재(三才)의 삼원적인 존재론적 지평의 우주론에 근거한다. 이는 삼원성(三元性)의 인식 지평과 삼원성의 절대긍정으로서의 생명 존재론으로 규정 가능하다. 이러한 삼원성의 내적 초월의 지평에서 불도유(佛道儒) 삼교는 원리적으로 원융자재(圓融自在)하게 회통이 가능하다는 이론적 근거가 제시될 수 있다. 결국 대종교가 말하는 참된 아(我)는 단지 기존의 중국철학에서 행해진 유불도 비판에서 볼 수 있는 것처럼 대종교가 규정하는 소아(小我)의 측면에 제한되지 않으며, 서구의 근대성에서 말하는 사유로서의 자아를 벗어나지 못하는 것이 아니라, 고유한 한국적인 특성을 지닌 아(我)이다. 이러한 아(我)를 통해 삼교를 회통하고자 한 시도는 그 독특한 아(我) 개념에서뿐만 아니라 주체적 시각과 주체성의 고유한 의미의 전개라는 점에 있어서 중요한 의의를 지닌다. 나아가 대종교의 아(我)는 이러한 삼교회통의 신인합일(神人合一)적 성격과 천지인 삼재의 삼원회통적 성격으로 인하여 인간의 아(我)뿐만 아니라 동식물과 무생물의 아(我)로까지 확장하여 물활론(物活論)적으로 이해할 수 있는 특징이기도 하다. | ||
| 520 | |a Daejonggyo’s (大倧敎) doctrine of the integration of the Three Religions (三敎會通) is based upon a new perspective of the concept of ‘Self’ (我). Daejonggyo presents its own unique concept of ‘Self’ that can neither be found in the whole tradition of the East Asian philosophy nor in any other new religious movements emerged in modern Korea. Its uniqueness lies in its three-way structure which is grounded in Daejonggyo’s cosmology that consists of the triple-dimensional view of the ontological horizon which in turn is based upon its ideas of the ‘Triple-Person of God’ (三神)-Hwain (桓因), Hwanung (桓雄) and Hwangeom (桓儉)-and the Triple-Nature of Heaven-Earth-Human (天地人 三才). Those ideas can be regarded as expressions of the spiritual horizon of awakening to the ultimate principle of Trinity (三元性). They also imply an ontological view of life derived from absolute confirmation of the Trinity. On the basis of the ultimate principle of Trinity that intrinsically transcends all diversities, the three religions of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism can be integrated completely without limit. Daejonggyo’s concept of ‘Self’ is also based upon the principle of Trinity. The concept of ‘True Self’ (大我) as advocated by Daejonggyo can never be compared to any idea of ‘Self’ presented by each of the three religions and traditional Chinese philosophy. Their concepts of ‘Self’ are either monistic or dichotomous at best, and can be integrated only through Daejonggyo’s concept of ‘Self’ that is based upon the ultimate principle of Trinity. Any analogy of the concept of ‘Self’ presented by Daejonggyo cannot be found in the Western modernity, either. It is a quite unique concept of ‘Self.’ Daejonggyo’s doctrine of integration of the three religions by means of its unique concept of ‘Self’ is significant that it endorses the validity of distinctive individual standpoints. It perhaps can be said that the most important meaning of the concept of ‘Self’ as presented by Daejonggyo lies in this point. It furthermore can be applied extensively to animals and plants, or even to inanimate world leading to a kind of hylozoism, for not only three religions but also anything can be integrated into one when the principles of God-Human harmony and of Trinity. | ||
