Summary: | The aim of this paper is to present the contemporary understanding of yoga as a way of dealing with our continually changing and fluid reality. The author presents the results of research carried out during his stay in the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in India. On the basis of interviews with the yogi, the author presents Ashtanga Yoga as a practice organizing reality and providing meaning in the contemporary world. In this paper the attempt is made to point out why this apparently physical practice becomes a path of spiritual development. |
