Zusammenfassung:Traditionalsocietywasaworldofunityamongdifferentfoldsincludingreligiousadherents.Everytemptingissueduringthisperiodwaseasilyresolvedsincefacetofacemotionandcounter-motionwerecarriedoutamongconcernmembers.So,peacereignedandtensionavertedwithease.However,withtheemergenceoftechnologicalerathatturnstheworldtoglobalvillage,thepeaceoftraditionalsocietywastruncatedandtensionsprungespeciallyamongreligiousadherents.Tothisend,restoringpeacebecomesnecessaryifcordialrelationshipthatexistduringtheoldendayswhereindividualsarebrethrenkeepermustbebroughtback.Thispapertherefore,methodologicallyusestextualanalysiscontainedintheGloriousQur’an49:6-9amongothersandhistoricalsurveyofreligioustensiontoadvocatemeansthroughwhichsocialmediainformationcanbescrutinized.TheresultshowsthatbothformidablereligionsinNigeria(ChristianityandIslam)preachpeacebuthearsayamongsomeelementsopenwallforthepenetrationoflizardamongthem.Itthenrecommendsthatverificationofallsocialmediainformation be carried out with absolute objectivity before any action can be taken.
