Description
Résumé:The letters of Libanius allow to reconstruct the complex network of relationships that linked the teacher to his former students and to his colleagues, with whom he entertained, more or less, friendly relations. These were made up of mutual recommendations and exchanges of writings which were read in private or in front of a small audience, and of mutual incentives to accommodate students. In this network were not strangers even some of the most well-known Christian bishops and intellectuals (Gregory of Nyssa, Basil, Gregory of Nazianzus), whose correspondence with Libanius could not be distinguished from this point of view from that of other his correspondents.
