Description
Résumé:This essay reflects the author’s personal and professional dedication to understanding how some individuals create life affirming, growth filled stories while others, also faced with challenges fail to flourish. Weaving together current thinking on adult development, the growth of the storied self, the cultivation of resilience in couples and families and ongoing research with older adults, the author infuses her clinical experiences as a psychologist with findings from a variety of research projects highlighting the many ways people traverse the aging process and reevaluate their place in the world. Integrating a personal dimension throughout. The author narrates her own exploration of soulful aging and the response to an inner call to repair and renew.
