Description
Summary:School leadership is one of the keys to educational improvement in Catholic schools. More specifically, these schools have a clear interest in issues of social justice, the fundamental basis of Christian values. This study consists of a multi-case study of two female principals who lead in Catholic schools of special difficulty. Based on their own voices, we analyze what are the keys to achieving good school leadership and what strategies they have used to consolidate their leadership identity. The findings highlight the importance of consolidating a shared vision based on Christian values and social justice. The principals also point to teamwork and professional commitment to achieving true school leadership. Empathy, listening and family involvement were also considered key elements.
