Zusammenfassung:In this paper we describe a spiritually-focused support group experience. These support groups are the centerpiece of H.o.p.e., Incorporated, a non-profit organization located in south paris, Maine (usa), created to address the emotional, spiritual, and educational needs for Healing of persons exceptional (Hope). Hope groups were designed to help individuals dealing with physical illness, including cancer. Hope groups are led by a guide trained in the organization’s philosophy of wellness, one strongly rooted in a spiritually-oriented approach to hope. following a brief review of findings on related support groups, empirical studies of Hope group participation are presented. a retrospective study is highlighted that is primarily qualitative in nature and especially focused on the spiritual aspects of hope.
