Description
Summary:The return of Islamist organizations to politics after the Arab Spring creates a need to reexamine moderate Islamism and its commitment to democracy in Tunisia. The objective is to examine the evolution of the Ennahda principles from its origins to the present day. After conducting this case study, it is concluded that, although the party retains an Islamic reference as a source of inspiration, it can be understood as an attempt to harmonize Islam and secular democracy. In addition, Ennahda's moderation has been evident since its origins, and today it has become an Islamic-democratic organization.
