Résumé:After the fall of the communist regime in 1989, the public space in Czechoslovakia and - since 1993 - the independent Slovak Republic was opened to a wide array of religious and spiritual movements from abroad. New religious movements started to find their followers in Slovakia. Since 1995, one of them has been a revivalist Slavic neopagan group based on stories about old Slavic gods and Slovak folklore, which has been led by Miro Žiarislav Švický. This case study offers a brief overview of the current position of this Slavic neopagan group in the Slovak public space based on the analysis of an internet radio show Rodná cesta, broadcasted on an independent internet radio station Slobodný vysielač since 2013. The study's goal is to provide an explanation for the radio show's success by putting Rodná cesta into a wider context of the history of Slovak religious broadcasting, and by approaching religion as a way of mediation.
