Zusammenfassung:Professional codes of conduct for priests are being implemented in all US Catholic dioceses/eparchies as a result of Articles 6 and 12 in the Charter for the Protection of Children & Young People; a document promulgated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Many dioceses/eparchies are adopting the Virtus Model Code of Pastoral Conduct endorsed by the National Catholic Risk Retention Group, Inc. This paper will focus on the ramifications of codes of conduct for priests, and particularly the Virtus Model Code of Pastoral Conduct.
