Description
Summary:The highlighted pericope brings together three of the future Christological titles, "Son of God", "Christ"/"Messiah" and "Son of man". If the first two emphasize Jesus' specialty, the third, associated with the figure of Dn 7, calls attention to his heavenly, divinized condition. Jesus has been related to the apocalyptic Son of Man only in his future and expected return to earth, however, it is possible to associate him already in his resurrected condition, not in a body of flesh, but in a body that resembles that of this pre-existing being. Understanding the resurrection of Jesus in this way, from the very Jewish bases, his identification with the heavenly Son of Man becomes more coherent, which places him in a divinized position even before the theological constructions of the following centuries.
