Summary: | A sample of 150 pupils in years 4, 5 and 6 completed six semantic differential scales concerned with attitude toward school and attitude toward specific components of the curriculum, together with information about their personal practice of prayer. After controlling for age and sex, a positive association was found between frequency of prayer and attitude toward religious education, but not toward school and other areas of the curriculum. These data contradict the findings of previous studies which have demonstrated a more general association between prayer and school-related attitudes. |
