Résumé:In the 10th century, a new empire arises on Mediterranean shores: the Fatimid Caliphate. In a few decades, a minority and persecuted Islamic fringe is able to found a vast, rich and enlightened empire. In this article, the dynamics that supported the creation of this empire will be analysed as well as and the characteristics that make it an illustrious example of fruitful coexistence between different cultures.
