Description
Summary:Education in the family is the first and foremost education where this education is carried out continuously and has a very large portion so that it occupies a very strategic position. In this article, the author wants to find out about Pawon as a place for children's education where we will look for how education is carried out and what values are taught. The authors focus on the discussion of the values of multicultural Islamic education. This research was conducted with a qualitative method. In the Tengger community, Pawon is a fireplace and can be interpreted as a kitchen. The Tenggerese people who like to gather in Pawon are a very strategic thing in carrying out education in the family because parents will be free to communicate with children in the Tengger tribal family. This teaching goes through various methods include exemplary method, traditional methods, advice method and method of attention or supervision. Pawon is so important and useful that this place becomes an effective place to internalize the values of multicultural education from an Islamic perspective which is carried out through various methods that have been mentioned. These values include: a) al-Musyawarah (Democration/Deliberation), al-Musawah (Equality), al-'Adl (Justice), Hablum min an-nas (Humanity), al-Ta'aruf ( to know), al-Ta'awun (Togetherness), al-Salam (Peace), al-Tasamuh (Tolerance), Ukhuah (Brotherhood). With these values, it is hoped that children will be really ready to live their lives in a multicultural society, especially in Tengger, where there are very strong religious and cultural differences.
