Résumé: | Current religious pluralism has been crucial for the revision of the concept of secularization and that of religious freedom. We are witnessing the return to what is sacred. The enlightened secularization thesis has not been proven: religion was supposed to disappear from the public sphere, because of the progress that science brought. However, religious reappearance means, in a way, the presence of traditional institutionalized religion and other forms of spirituality within the public sphere; furthermore, it shows that it is necessary to reexam what is understood by religion and show why religious faith is a good that must be protected. |
