Description
Summary:Four measures of pastoral mobility were developed to determine a relationship to ministerial effectiveness. Results with two of the measures showed that mobility patterns with short pastorates of less than four years were more frequently characteristic of the less effective pastors. But some short term pastors, especially among the younger men, were still given an effective rating in a succeeding parish. Mobility and effectiveness in relation to denominational polity, causes of mobility patterns, the development of formulae to identify closer associations with effectiveness, and the relationship of mobility to career development were discussed.
