| Summary: | The present study is intended as an interpretation of KTU 1.41//1.87, a descriptive temple record of the annual vintage celebrations at Ugarit. A brief ritual, preserved in 1.41, lines 50-55, will be commented upon in an appendix. The treatment will be undertaken in a new way, utilizing not only the format which has become customary in previous publications by the two authors,, but also a methodology that takes into account architectural factors as well as phenomenological considerations. It is probable that the ritual described in 1.41 was performed in the Temple of Baal, and some of the locales mentioned in the text may be tentatively identified with archaeological remains found on the site. Benefiting from recent studies by Marguerite Yon and H. Frost, the authors survey the complex of structures and artifacts located on the acropolis of Ugarit and their relation to myth and ritual. The Themes discuss larger questions of interpretation, and suggest possible links between the ritual systems of Ugarit and contemporary Emar. Le présent travail propose une interprétation du texte KTU 1.41//1.87, relation descriptive, émanant du temple, des célébrations annuelles de la vendange à Ugarit. Un court rituel, conservé en 1.41, lignes 50-55, sera commenté en appendice. L'étude est menée d'une manière nouvelle, non seulement avec la présentation déjà expérimentée par les deux Auteurs dans des publications antérieures, mais aussi suivant une méthode qui prend en compte les données architecturales aussi bien que des considérations phénoménologiques. Il est probable que le rituel décrit en 1.41 était réalisé dans le temple de Baal, et certaines des localisations du texte sont, hypothétiquement, identifiées avec des restes archéologiques. Profitant des récentes recherches de M. Yon et de H. Frost, les Auteurs examinent l'ensemble des structures et trouvailles de l'acropole d'Ugarit, en relation aux mythes et aux rituels. Les Thèmes discutent de plus amples questions d'interprétation, et suggèrent des liens entre les systèmes rituels d'Ugarit et ceux, contemporains, d'Émar. |
