| Zusammenfassung: | As a social science study on historical events, this book has momentous implications for understanding the tense political situation in several nations; however, the overly technical style of the work is such that the average reader may find it incomprehensible. Dutch sociologist/political scientist Robert Braun, now an assistant professor at Berkeley, wrote this fascinating study, which far surpasses my own work on Christians who rescued Jews during the Holocaust, as well as other current scholarship on this subject.1 His work examines in staggering detail the rescue (and non-rescue) of Jews during the Holocaust as it unfolded in his home country of the Netherlands and neighboring Belgium. |
