Description
Summary:The Covid-19 pandemic has further deepened the social imbalances across the world and in individual countries. This makes it all the more important to direct political interventions and counter-measures to achieve sustainable development for all and be better prepared for future crises. For this a socio-ecological transformation of economy and society is necessary, so that all human beings, now and in the future, can live well while respecting the limits of the planet. The article identifies obstacles to such a change and goes on to mention mechanisms for successful transformation. These will have to be considered, fine-tuned by the community and finally readjusted.
