Description
Summary:In this paper an answer to the following basic questions is pursued: "Is ’globalisation ’a factual condition or does it have its values? If it is something factual, çan it produce new values?" Given that technology which seems to be the factual dimenison of globalisation, cannot be conceived independently of its values, glosbalisation, from the most optimistic perspective, is a factual condition producing new values. And from a pessimistic perspective, it is a process laying down values or making certain value-judgements. Butif by 'values’ one has religious, ethical, legal, political, economical, aesthetic values in mind, a consideration on "the value-dimension of globalisation" will essentially involve the question as to whether globalisation lays down its own values in the domains religion, ethics, law, politics, economics and aesthetics. Here, I shall particularly concentrate upon the impact of globalisation on religion
