The analysis of the author’s polemical intent and quotations shows that Theodore assembles two different text corpora within a linguistically inconsistent montage and uses stereotyped heresiological fictions (an anti-Samaritan Kuthaean narrative and an anti-Baptist Dosithean one) in order to write the history of the only group he knows : the Mandaeans. | ||
