Description
Summary:This article aims to examine the French journal Archives de Sciences Sociales des Religions and its relationship with French Sociological School or Dürkheimian School. Founded in 1956 by a small group of five scholars, that is Henri Desroche, Emile Poulat, Jacques Maître, François-André Isambert and Gabriel Le Bras, this group, influenced especially by Le Bras, printed in this group a ethos of cooperative collective work, that he knew among some anthropologists and sociologists who have acted in Année sociologique revue, such as Marcel Mauss, Maurice Halbwachs, Celestin Bouglé, Louis Massignon, François Simiand e Henri Lévy-Bruhl. Also, the Dürkheimian heritage remained institutionally in the Horizon of Archives, that wanted, to a certain extent, to continue Année sociologique in the scientific treatment of the theme of religious, without disconsider the Dürkheimian theory on religion, on which Archives consecrated many texts and even three volumes in its history, that will be taken into account in this article.
