Description
Résumé:The objective of this article is to understand the insertion of new US fundamentalist movements in Latin America during the Trump government, with Brazil as the focus. A theoretical approach that the study refers is the one that gathers content on fundamentalisms and the potentization of its presence in politics in the US in Latin America, with an analysis of its characteristics. The methodological path included an exploratory study that identified organizations/movements that were inserted in Latin America from 2010 to 2020, being delimited for this article, the action in Brazil of two of these projects during the Trump administration, Ethnos 360° and Capitol Ministries, as an application of the notion of fundamentalisms adopted. These organizations are driven by the pattern of “religious freedom” built in the alliance of Donald Trump with conservative and ultraconservative evangelicalism of fundamentalist matrix, to carry out interventions on issues of public interest.
