Summary:The patriarchal ideology, supposedly grounded in the Gospel, opposes love of oneself with love for our neighbours. This opposition does not apply to women or men in the same way. After considerung the context of the discussion from the point of view of Mc 12,28-34, the present article attempts to lay the foundations for the thesis that love of oneself, love for God, and for our neighbours are not exclusive but inclusive. For women, to love themselves is a necessary condition for a healthy love of God and others.
