Résumé:The debate on the Torah and democracy, very much alive today in Israel, is part of the ongoing opposition between tradition and modernity. In this short paper, possible formulas, options, and strategies are indicated for carrying out such a confrontation from the point of view of the Torah. In particular, the rabbinical and Talmud culture, a culture that highly values discussion and a good argument, is solicited in a democratic and modern sense.
