Description
Summary:The issue represents a «little philosophy» for accompanying the end of life, through a reflection on the dying process and the possible therapeutic interven-tions intended to help human beings to live until the end in a truly human way. This accompanying process is a real «taking care of» the person: in a holistic and global approach to the end of life, the spiritual dimension becomes an essential characteri-stic of the human condition. The organic and biological component of pain and the psychological, social, and spiritual component of suffering are taken into consideration by palliative care and medicine: in this way, a person can be accompanied through an authentic dialogue for all the time of his or her life and in all his or her necessities, needs, and wishes.
