Zusammenfassung:In a variety of ways Robert Perske was ahead of his time, emphasizing people's unique gifts and contributions rather than their disabilities. As a voice of reform, Bob challenged the institutionalization of people with mental retardation. Throughout these works, Bob emphasizes the humanity of people with mental retardation, approaching them honestly as people with strengths and weaknesses. He shows how they are able to “open” and experience a broad range of life, accomplishing a great deal regardless of their disabilities.
