Paralleling social change in the United States, special education programming offered by the Christian Learning Center of Grand Rapids, Michigan, has changed from the practice of providing segregated, self-contained education, to mainstreaming, to education that is inclusive. This article traces the evolution of support services offered by the CLC Network to Christian schools and their teachers and students in West Michigan and throughout the United States and provides a case study of what inclusive Christian education should look like. The author wishes to thank R. H. “Bear” Berends, Executive Director of CLC Network, and Doug Bouman, CLC Network's Director of Psychological Services, for their assistance and contributions in the development of this article.
