An attempt is made to present a simple categorization of the many different types of divination by focusing on the channels through which the general public comes in contact with them. In the latter half of the article an examination of divination is presented, based on the results of a survey targeting a group of enthusiastic divination "consumers." The article focuses on young women, who form the group most interested in fortune-telling, and attempts to shed light on both the level of their awareness of the divination arts and their goals in using the various techniques.
