Summary:This article addresses seemingly enigmatic passages of Scripture dealing with membership (who is in or out?), mastery (how much knowledge is required for entry into the kingdom?), and method (what are appropriate ways to present the Gospel?). The author raises provocative questions on a range of issues central to Western theology and practice. Designed primarily as a thought-provoking exercise, the article encourages leaders and their colleagues to reconsider implications for Christian mission. The article points to the need for truth as it is set in the context of God's expansive grace.
