Description
Summary:Exemplar studies have considered an array of exemplar types: creative exemplars, moral exemplars, and scientific exemplars. However, little work has considered the relation between different forms of exemplarity. The relationship between exemplarity and virtue is a recent development in psychological studies. Adopting a Thomistic perspective, this article considers various forms of exemplarity as they relate, or fail to relate, to flourishing, alongside the role of virtue in flourishing. Considerations for future research extending and drawing upon exemplar research and virtue ethics are presented, especially inquiry into exemplary communities and both intellectual and moral flourishing.
