Situé dans le secteur occidental du massif, ce complexe de 225 m² environ est associé à deux citernes alimentées par deux aqueducs aériens et offre une vue spectaculaire sur le théâtre et le centre-ville. Topographiquement, il fait écho aux bains découverts sur le revers oriental du massif d’Umm al-Biyarah. Sont présentées ici une première description des vestiges et quelques hypothèses d’interprétation, posées avant l’ouverture des fouilles, programmées pour le printemps 2015. A 1/50 general mapping of the Jabal Khubthah identified an unpublished small bath-complex previously interpreted by G. Dalman as cultic. This ca. 225 m² complex, overlooking the theatre and the inner city, is associated with two cisterns supplied by two aqueducts. It echoes topographically a bath-complex partly excavated on the eastern edge of Umm al-Biyarah. Prior to the beginning of the excavations (Spring 2015), the remains of the Khubthah Baths are here described and preliminary thoughts about its interpretation are suggested. من خلال مسح عام على مقياس ١/٥٠ على قمة جبل ”خبثه“ تم الكشف عن حمامات غير منشورة حتى الآن والتي إعتبرت كمنشآت للعبادة منذ إكتشافها من قبل ج. دلمان أوائل القرن العشرين. يرافق هذا المنتجع الذي يوازي مساحته ٢٢٥ م٢ بركتان تغذيها قناتان مرفوعتان، وإنه يوفر منظر رائع على المسرح ووسط المدينة. ي ُذكر موقعه التوبوغرافي بالحمامات المكتشفة على الجانب الشرقي لجبل ”أم البيارة“. تعرض هذه المقالة وصف أولي للآثارات وبعض التفسير للفرضيات المطروحة قبل إفتتاح الحفريات في فصل الربيع من العام ٢٠١٥ المقبل |
