| Zusammenfassung: | Face aux effets humanitaires profonds de la crise économique qui a ravagé la Grèce depuis 2009, l'Église orthodoxe de Grèce a intensifié son soutien matériel et spirituel aux personnes défavorisées. Compte tenu des insuffisances du système social grec, le modèle et le filet de protection sociale reposent sur une mosaïque de trois acteurs : l'État, acteur de type formel ; la famille, dont le rôle est essentiel, mais informel ; l'Église dont l'action matérielle et symbolique suggère qu'elle entend se présenter comme une « deuxième famille » et comme partenaire social de l'État. L'impact de la crise économique sur la société grecque et sur l'Église elle-même se remarque au fait que cette dernière est traversée par une crise morale concernant sa propre raison d'être. L'Église se trouve en face d'un dilemme par rapport à la nature et l'ampleur de son travail philanthropique, et à sa position envers la diversification de la société grecque. La crise qui traverse la Grèce constitue aussi pour l'Église un moment de réflexion sur son identité sociale, ainsi qu'un défi pour elle de s'adapter aux nouvelles réalités de la société grecque. In response to the human costs of the economic crisis, which has ravaged Greece since 2009, the Orthodox Church of Greece has intensified its material and spiritual support to disadvantaged people. Given the shortcomings of the Greek welfare system, the social protection model and safety net in Greece is made up of a mosaic of three actors: the formal role of the state, the essential, but informal, role of the family, and the material and symbolic role of the church which acts as a "second family" and a social partner of the state. The impact of the economic crisis on Greek society and on the Church itself, suggests that the Church is experiencing a moral crisis of its own existence and raison d'être. The Church faces a dilemma on the nature and extent of its philanthropic work, and on its stance toward the diversification of Greek society. The crisis in Greece also constitutes for the Church a key moment for reflection on its own social identity, as well as a challenge for it to adapt its relevance to the new realities of Greek society. |
