Summary:The article presents the author's views on the ecotheology of critical hope. The role of ecotheologians as a hermeneutic of prophetic hope is discussed as well as critical hope as an action-oriented response to despair. Also explored are the importance for theologians and climatologists to move to critical hpoe from critical alienation, the role of actively hoping in surviving life, and how theologians can participate in a dialectic between suffering and hope.
