520 |a This article examines recent literature on the philosophy of digitization. It addresses five philosophical areas that have recently become the focus of digitality research: (i) anthropology, (ii) ontology, (iii) epistemology, (iv) ethics and (v) aesthetics. These areas are discussed with reference to the following technological phenomena: digital objects, virtual worlds, and digital games. The article analyzes these phenomena by reference to the modalities of reality, simulation, and virtuality.
