| Zusammenfassung: | In this special issue, we explore this question in depth and seek an answer—if such a thing is still needed—to whether comparative theology can be done beyond the textual sphere. Here, the topic of land takes center stage, and we raise questions about embodiment, materiality, place, and belonging. Indeed, it helps show that in as far as written texts have a place it is only within a context, and that context is always located in place and time. In other words—arguably—place, space, land, embodiment, and materiality take precedence over the word, especially the word as inscribed within the pages of specific textual resources. |
