Zusammenfassung: | The practice of meditation has many advantages, including introspection, attentiveness, and relaxation. It benefits both biological and mental processes, thus affecting the sense of personal well-being. This study examined the impact of meditation practice on personal spirituality and personal well-being of women over the age of 20 in Israel. Eighty women, half of whom practiced meditation and half who did not practice on at least a weekly basis (the control group) answered three questionnaires: a demographic questionnaire, a spirituality questionnaire, and a personal well-being questionnaire. The study found differences between the control group and the meditation practitioners on the personal well-being and spirituality indices. It also found significant correlations between personal spirituality and personal well-being. The findings support the contribution of meditation practice to personal spirituality and personal well-being. |
