Description
Résumé:In this study, 159 leaders completed the Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory, the Daily Spiritual Experiences Scale and the Spiritual Well-Being Scale. An Exploratory Factor Analysis using the Principal Components method with Varimax rotation was conducted on all of the subscales of the three instruments and produced a 5-factor solution. Components of Emotional Intelligence loaded on three separate components, the two subscales from the Spiritual Well-Being Scale loaded on a separate component and the total score from the Daily Spiritual Experiences Scale loaded on a separate scale. This finding lent support that the Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory was measuring something different than spirituality. Consequently, the two spirituality instruments were used to predict emotional intelligence. Among the findings were that leader age and leader Daily Spiritual Experiences predicted overall leader Emotional Intelligence.
