In both groups, the Brief Positive and Negative Religious Coping and the Pakistani Coping Practices scales correlated positively with an array of religious measures. Negative Religious Coping and Pakistani Coping Practices also predicted greater psychological distress. Muslim women self-reported higher levels of religious coping than did Muslim men. These data most importantly suggested that the life-threatening condition of cancer brought the life-sustaining psychological resources of Islam into clearer focus for Muslim patients | ||
