While there are hundreds of metal bands in countries with a similar population structure to Georgia, the number of bands in the Georgian scene is far smaller, and the scene remains mostly underground with a very insignificant number of fans. This study discusses how the political situation of the country, the strong position of the Orthodox Church, as well as the historically affected local culture influences the situation of extreme metal in Georgia. | ||
