Il illustre comment la figure de Marie et la vocation féminine, essentiellement maternelle, telles qu’articulées par le Magistère catholique, sont contestées et déconstruites par la collective. Ce faisant, nous montrons que L’autre Parole s’inscrit en faux de l’enseignement catholique relatif à la femme où la maternité est exaltée comme horizon et vocation ultime de la femme, peu importe qu’elle soit biologique ou spirituelle. L’analyse du discours et des pratiques symboliques liés à divers enjeux gravitant autour de la maternité (avortement, nouvelles technologies de la reproduction et relations mères-filles dans la militance) donne à voir l’évolution de la posture féministe radicale et matérialiste de la collective qui, sans perdre de vue des outils conceptuels comme les rapports de sexage et l’appropriation collective des femmes, intègre une réflexion éco-féministe et adopte une perspective non-hiérarchique relative à la vie et à la défense des droits des femmes. | ||
| 520 | |a This article analyses how the Quebec Christian feminist collective, L’autre Parole, has treated maternity in its eponymous journal since 1976. It shows how Mary and the idea of a feminine vocation, both framed by the Catholic Magisterium as maternal by essence, are contested and deconstructed by L’autre Parole. This collective has developed an alternative discourse to Catholic teachings on the woman, in which motherhood (biological or spiritual) is elevated as the exclusive and ultimate horizon and vocation of a woman. An analysis of the collective’s discourse and symbolic practices related to issues surrounding maternity (abortion, new reproductive technologies, and activists’ mothers-daughters relationships) illustrates the evolution of the radical and materialist feminist stance. Without losing sight of conceptual tools like gender relations and collective ownership of women, it integrates eco-feminist thought and adopts a non-hierarchical perspective with respect to life and the defence of women’s rights. | ||
