Description
Résumé:The Study of Religion and the Theology have been developed together in the Brazilian Academy. On the other hand, each area has their own epistemologies and methodologies. Thus this paper proposes to identify the very characteristics of Theology and the Study of Religion, in order to understand what each area has of unique. The methodology applied is the bibliographical revision, added to the data collection and creation of realistic typologies on the academic works of each one of these areas as theoretical criterion of the research. It enters into the distinctions, intersections and confusions between both areas. As a result, it was observed that the works of Study of Religion are often confused with works of Theology in Brazil, while the works of Theology have more clarity about its object and methodology.
