Description
Summary:In this paper I wish to offer some limited reflections on the relation between Advaita Vedanta and ecology. At the outset. I want to say that I have the utmost esteem for the Advaita tradition and its exponents, both past and present. Nevertheless, there are aspects of Advaitic spirituality that give me pause for thought. especially in light of the ecological distress that now affects India as much as it does the rest of the world. The most significant of these is Advalta's radical devaluation of natural universe.
