Zusammenfassung:One approach to the contributions of various systems of psycho- logy toward human growth is to study them from the perspectives of reductionism which is linked with mechanism, and of holism. Reduc- tionism, in psychology, explains human nature and behaviour in elementalistic terms. Holism, on the other hand, holds that there is an essential principle in every person, which synthesizes him or her as a unified whole.
